The only thing golden about this experience was leaving. But the chicken tasted fake and left a weird feeling. Mashed potatoes dry as hell. Fried okra was OK . Pizza is alright. Customer service was just fine.
Found a place called Golden Drumstick on google maps...about 15 miles away...out in the sticks at a crossroads. Drove there thinking it was like a KFC (menu looked like it and looked good)... was not even there anymore. Instead was a pizza joint... bought a Stromboli... it sucked ...ate half...threw away the rest. Seems like all the food was already cooked and in the cases ...probably a long time. It looked old and dried out... will not be returning.
I don't actually hate it. I'm afraid to eat at a place that can't even maintain it's furniture. Also, the name has changed from Champs Chicken to Golden Drumstick. I've reported it to google maps but I guess it has not been confirmed & changed yet.
Has really become a a favorite among the kids nearby. I have to admit the restaurant wasn't the best in the beginning but the new manager has made some clear improvements to the service quality and overall environment. 10/10 recommend.
I am not the person to even leave a review, but I feel the need. We ordered two pizzas and wings from this “restaurant” 15 minutes before we left our house, I understand that they were busy and had orders ahead of us, but while waiting on our food I noticed MANY things that are just completely unacceptable. First, one of the employees walked in wearing PAJAMAS and CROCS. Second, pajama guy came in HACKING all over, then proceeded to take a customers’ order, greeting him with “what can I get you Bro”, he then continued to fill the order without washing his hands or applying gloves. Third, two more female employees walked in and proceeded to do what looked like a whole lot of nothing, until there was about 10 people waiting, one started to work. Forth, while one employee was greeting customers(Only one who seemed to work), pajama guy leisurely made himself a fountain drink. Last, but not least, the only guy who seemed to be working was cashing out and elderly man who checked his pizza and said something about it “not having something” to which the cashier became obviously irritated, and said “it’s a meat lovers” and slammed the mans change and receipt into his hand. Our family will not be returning. If I could leave zero stars, I would.
We'll the young man wiped his nose on his shirt right in front of me. He could of came from the back and wash his hands first. That would of been impressive. The food in the warmer looked old. This was around 2. The dining room needed swept and tables wiped. Maybe he was busy an by himself. So I ordered a custom pizza.(hesitantly) but I was hungry and in the middle of no where.
So chicken was hard and dry . I suggest just ordering a whole pizza that's fresh but other than that place was clean and people were nice. They even let me keep the pizza that they made wrong and remade me a new one.
Waited 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. Then told they no longer carried or were out of several menu items we wanted. And in the end, the food wasn't very good.
